First of all, let me assure you,
if you thought you'd never find that one special Cary movie you've
been searching for forever, you're in for some delightful surprises!
ALL of Cary's
movies ARE available!!
Please
read through this entire page for the most comprehensive help you'll
find online to aid you in finding the Cary Grant video(s) you
seek.
"Where can I find the movie I want?"
My first suggestion is to try and
find the movie you want commercially.
If it's available commercially,
chances are that Amazon will have it.
I recommend them, because they're reliable,
and if you order a couple of movies, shipping is often free.
If you're just starting your
Cary Grant movie collection,
another great resource is Columbia House.
I fulfilled my entire membership with Cary Grant movies.
Averaged out, I only spent about $10 per movie.
(At the bottom of
this page is a list of Cary movies I know for a fact are not available
commercially. You may wish to consult this list before going on a
time-consuming, but fruitless search.)
Can't find the video you've been searching
for commercially available?
Or is the video you want on the list below? Click on the
"Hard-to-Find"
link and you'll find where to go to get the movie you want!!
My sources are reliable and honest about their quality. If
you have any questions, please ask them up front, and they'll be
glad to help you.
HARD-TO-FIND
The following movies
are not, and have not (to my knowledge) ever been available
commercially. To obtain a copy of any of these movies,
you'll need to click on the "Hard-to-Find"
link.
MORATORIUM
The
studios frequently put movies on moratorium (unavailable for sale)
for periods of time. Often they are remastering the movie
and will be rereleasing it in the near future, or the studio may
have lost the rights to the film. If you want a
commercial copy of these movies, the best place to go is eBay.
There always seems to be someone selling a copy.
TELEVISION
TCM shows LOTS of
Cary movies.
When Fox Movie Channel ran
"Born to be Bad" in December of 2000. I nearly
fainted! "This is the Night" showed up on TCM
once. So don't forget to check the TELEVISION
link on this site at the first of every month to see what's
playing!
There you have
it! All the tools necessary to find that one Cary movie
you've been searching years for, or maybe to complete your Cary
Grant video collection! Don't forget ... if you succeed in
getting all 72 of Cary's movies ... join the exclusive 72
Speakeasy ... a group of dedicated fans, like yourself,
who own all of Cary's movies.
