Champagne Cocktail - "An Affair to Remember"

Champagne CocktailChampagne 1

Take the tumbler .5 full with ice.  Add the Brown Curacao, Brandy, plain syrup and Champagne in the above order.  Stir well and serve in a large wine glass.

Champagne 2
1 small lump of sugar
3-4 dashes of Angosturas Bitters
Juice of 1/4 of a lemon
4-1/2 parts of Champagne
1 slice of lemon
1 small piece of ice

Soak the lump of sugar in the Angosturas Bitters.  Squeeze teh juice of the lemon into a wine glass and add the saturated sugar.  Then add the piece of ice and fill up with Champagne.  Serve with a slice of lemon.  This is an excellent pick-me-up.

Please note that when making Champagne cocktails of any description, be careful to have a bottle of Champagne on ice, and to keep it well corked. About 6-8 cocktails can be made with a bottle of Champagne.

Cary Grant - A couple of classy drinks named after a classy guy!
Cary GrantCary Grant 1
1 shot of vodka
1 shot of Tia Maria
Juice of 1 lime
Ice cubes

Mix in an old fashioned tumbler

It is said that the drink is named after CG because apparently it was what he drank.
However, I don't know if that is true?  But it does have a rating of 9.5.

Cary Grant 2
1.5 shots of Luksosowa (Polish potato vodka)
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon fine sugar
Splash of Tio Pepe Spanish dry sherry
Ice cubes
Wedge of Lime for Garnish

Fill a mixing glass with ice, add ingredients, shake well and serve in a chilled martini glass, with a wedge of lime for garnish.

Apparently CG ordered this one at the 21 Club. It seemed he liked gimlets but thought they were too sweet so the barman was asked by him to try this variation.
